This Privacy Policy outlines how Learning Easy Apps (“we”, “our”, or “us”) collects, processes, and protects information when you install and use our Android application, Qibla Direction Finder (“the App”).
1. Information We Access & Process
A. Location Data (ACCESS_FINE_LOCATION & ACCESS_COARSE_LOCATION)
To provide accurate Qibla direction, local prayer schedules (Salah/Namaz), and nearby mosque directions, the App accesses your device's geographical coordinates (latitude and longitude) via GPS or network providers while the application is active:
- Qibla Compass Calculation: Computes the Great Circle direction (geodesic azimuth) pointing directly toward the Holy Kaaba in Makkah, Saudi Arabia.
- Astronomical Prayer Times: Calculates exact local timings for Fajr, Sunrise, Dhuhr, Asr, Maghrib, and Isha based on recognized calculation conventions.
- Nearby Mosques: Passes coordinates via Google Places API to identify nearby Masjids and estimated walking distances.
Note: If you do not wish to share GPS location, the App features an Offline City Selector allowing you to select your city manually without granting location permissions.
B. Camera Access (CAMERA Permission)
The App requests camera access strictly for the optional Augmented Reality (AR) Camera Compass feature. When enabled, the App overlays Kaaba direction indicators onto your live camera preview so you can visually orient yourself in your physical room or landscape.
We do not record, take photos, capture video frames, or transmit camera imagery off your device.
C. Device Sensors
The App reads device sensors (magnetometer, accelerometer, and gyroscope) to determine magnetic north and calculate azimuth orientation for the compass dial. Sensor readings remain strictly on-device in temporary memory.
D. Alarms & Notifications (SCHEDULE_EXACT_ALARM & POST_NOTIFICATIONS)
To sound punctual Adhan prayer calls and notify you of upcoming Salah times, the App schedules exact device alarms and displays notifications. Foreground service (media playback) is used solely to play the Adhan audio continuously until completed or dismissed.
2. Third-Party Services & SDKs
The App integrates reliable third-party SDKs to provide core utilities, advertisements, analytics, and subscriptions. These providers may collect non-personally identifiable diagnostic and device identifiers (such as Google Advertising ID / GAID, IP address, and OS version):
- Google Mobile Ads (AdMob): Used to deliver non-personalized or personalized banner, interstitial, and app open advertisements. View Google Ads Privacy Policy.
- Google Play Billing Library: Facilitates secure, encrypted in-app purchases and subscriptions (e.g. Ad-Free Pro). All financial and payment data is managed exclusively by Google Play; we never have access to your payment card details. View Google Privacy Policy.
- Firebase Analytics & Crashlytics: Collects anonymous crash logs, app stability reports, and performance metrics to help us fix bugs and improve usability. View Firebase Privacy Policy.
- Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM): Sends non-intrusive prayer notifications and important app update alerts.
- Google Maps & Places SDK: Provides visual map routing to the Kaaba and search capabilities for local mosques. View Google Maps Platform Terms.
3. Data Storage & Security
All personal preferences (such as selected Asr calculation method, manual minute adjustments, favourite Tasbih bead style, and saved Azkar counters) are stored locally on your device using encrypted DataStore and SQLite Room database. We maintain physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards to protect all technical data processed by third-party SDKs.
4. User Rights & Data Deletion Mechanism
In accordance with Google Play Developer Policies and global privacy regulations (including GDPR and CCPA):
- You can clear all local app preferences and cached counters at any time by navigating to your device's Settings > Apps > Qibla Direction Finder > Storage > Clear Data.
- You can revoke Location or Camera permissions at any time via your device's application permission settings.
- To request the deletion of any anonymous diagnostic logs or advertising ID records associated with your device, please send a written request to learningeasyapps@gmail.com with the subject line “Data Deletion Request – Qibla Direction Finder”. We will fulfill requests within 30 business days.
5. Children's Privacy
Our App is suitable for general audiences and families. We do not knowingly collect personal identifiable information from children under the age of 13. If you believe that an underage child has provided personal information to third-party SDKs through our app, please contact us immediately so we can take appropriate remedial steps.
6. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update our Privacy Policy periodically to reflect new features or legal requirements. Any modifications will be posted directly to this page with an updated effective date. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
